Hello and welcome to Zero Hanger's live coverage of Thursday's qualifying final between Adelaide and Collingwood at Adelaide Oval.

The minor premiers are back in the September action for the first time since 2017, while the Magpies have also returned to the finals frame after a disappointing flag defence last year.

The winner of this evening's affair will proceed to a home preliminary final in two weeks' time, while the loser will host the winner of Saturday's elimination final between GWS and Hawthorn.

Pre-Game

Adelaide enter the blockbuster as favourites and one of the hottest teams in the Finals, winning nine games in a row since their Round 15 bye. Collingwood will turn to their strong defensive showing against the Crows from Round 23 for confidence, where they limited the minor premiers to 17 fewer inside 50s than their season average.

Both sides have made changes ahead of the clash, with Collingwood omitting key forward Dan McStay for the 211cm Mason Cox. The Pies will also bring in emerging defensive talent Wil Parker for the injured Jeremy Howe, who suffered a groin strain against Melbourne in Round 24.

Adelaide, meanwhile, have been given a major defensive boost with Max Michalanney returning for the first time since the Round 20 Showdown where he suffered a hamstring strain. Luke Pedlar has also been selected, with rookie Sid Draper and midfielder Billy Dowling omitted in their place.
