Brisbane's Pearce Hanley is reportedly set to join cross-town rivals, Gold Coast.

News Corp reports that the two clubs have agreed to a deal which will see the Hanley join the Suns after nine seasons at Brisbane.

Hanley, who averaged 21.2 disposals in 2016, is contracted for next season, however, the Lions are looking to trade the 27-year-old as they look to begin a vast rebuild of their list.

The Suns have a raft of high draft picks at their disposal to bring in experienced players, with the club understood to favour bringing in established stars rather than young players.

Gold Coast currently hold picks 4, 9, 21, 22, 25 and 28, which will prove vital in securing Hanley among others.

Hawthorn's Luke Breust has also been linked with a move north as part of the deal to get Jaeger O'Meara to the Hawks.
