Steven May's partner has launched a lawsuit against Melbourne, coach Steven King and footy boss Alan Richardson.

Court documents have listed the matter under privacy.

Multiple reports have indicated Sachi Dede will have a case management hearing on Friday morning after lodging documents on May 22.

Melbourne is aware of the case.

It follows a meeting in February where Richardson and King were alleged to have shared private information. About 15 partners of players were in the meeting where Guerra and King introduced themselves and addressed a matter that impacts the football program.

The Demons apologised following the meeting, conceding then chief executive Paul Guerra should have led the meeting

May retired on the eve of the 2026 season.
