Former AFL footballer Jake King is concerned he'll lose his job after being charged with steroid possession.
The new charges against King come after after the former Tiger faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday, where he also faces charges of extortion, making threats to kill and threatening to inflict serious injury against Tony Mokdissi in 2017.
King's lawyer Geoffrey Steward said the new charges could be withdrawn, with King likely to cut a deal with presecutors in exchange for a guilty plea on some charges.
Steward attempted to prevent the media from publishing he most recent charges against King over concerns it would affect his post-football career.
"If it's published and they are subsequently withdrawn, for him to lose his job.
"There's a real likelihood that those charges could be withdrawn."
Magistrate Franz Holzer made clear that the charges were "no more than allegations" at this stage.
