North Melbourne fringe players Zac Fisher and Wil Dawson were omitted from the club's Round 14 clash against West Coast due to disciplinary reasons.

The pair were understood to have been out drinking following the club's disappointing 124-point loss to Fremantle the week prior, and to have returned home late.

Kangaroos officials provided a statement to Channel Seven's The Agenda Setters.

"The club became aware that Zac Fisher and Wil Dawson failed to meet the standards expected of our team on the night after our game in Bunbury," North Melbourne general manager Todd Viney said in a statement.

"As a result, they were not available for selection for the match against West Coast and played in our VFL team instead.

"We are building a high-performance culture at the club, and on this occasion, both Zac and Wil did not live up to those standards."

In the loss to the Dockers, Fisher had collected 14 touches, and Dawson gathered a measly four.
The clash against Fremantle was Fisher's first game since July last year due to injury woes and form struggles.

The pair returned to Victoria and played St Kilda in the VFL.

Fisher recorded 26 possessions, six marks and three clearances while Dawson's performance improved in the ruck, amassing 17 hit-outs and nine disposals in the draw.
