Richmond young gun Daniel Rioli has signed a two-year contract extension that will see him remain at Tigerland until at least the end of the 2019 season.

The 20-year-old told the club's website he was thrilled to secure his future at Richmond, and said it was an easy call for him to make.

“I’m really excited to remain at Richmond for at least another two years,” Rioli told richmondfc.com.au.

“I have loved this football club from day one and it was an easy decision to re-sign.”

The forward has played 32 games for the Tigers since joining the club with the 15th pick of the 2015 National Draft, and has kicked 26 goals.

Richmond's general manager of football talent Dan Richardson said the club were excited to keep Rioli at the Tigers, and spoke highly of his work off the field as well.

“Daniel is an exciting, young player and he has a very bright future ahead of him,” Richardson told the club's website.

“Daniel is clearly a talented footballer, but he also brings much more to our football club.

“He is passionate about sharing his culture and educating his teammates, as well as the broader football community.”
