Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury has cleared himself of coronavirus in a Twitter post on Tuesday morning.

The 32-year old missed the club's last two training sessions after experiencing flu-like symptoms and was quarantined from his teammates and sent away for tests for COVID-19.

It remains unclear whether or not the star midfielder will be available for the Pies' opening round clash against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.

If an AFL player contracts coronavirus it will place serious doubt on the 2020 AFL season.
