Geelong has delisted Zac Bates, Cameron Delaney, Padraig Lucey, Tom Read and Jock Cornell.

All five players were informed today that their contracts will not be renewed.

“As a club we wish to thank Zac, Cameron, Padraig, Tom and Jock for their time at the club and wish them every success for the future,” Geelong’s general manager of football Steve Hocking said.

“All five guys have shown great dedication to their football despite the challenges that have been thrown at them and we hope they receive opportunities at other clubs.”

None of the five players managed to make their senior debuts while at the Cats.

However, Delaney played six AFL games with North Melbourne between 2012 and 2014, before being delisted.

He was selected with pick No.31 in the Rookie Draft by Geelong at the end of last year.

They are unlikely to be the last of the departures from the Cattery this season, with the futures of veterans Jimmy Bartel, Corey Enright and Tom Lonergan all uncertain.

Meanwhile, speedster Steven Motlop has been linked with a possible trade after an inconsistent season.
