Geelong have upgraded Irish midfielder Mark O'Connor from their Rookie list to the Senior list as a replacement for the injured Quinton Narkle.

O'Connor impressed for the Cats during their JLT campaign, and is no stranger to senior football after making his debut in 2017.

The 21-year-old debuted against the Bomber in round eight, before playing against the Western Bulldogs the following week, in his first career win.

He played just two senior games last season, after joining the club in 2016.

O'Connor was a junior Gaelic footballer, and joined the Cats as a Category B rookie.

He is a replacement for Narkle, who is injured his ACL in June last year, and is still a while away from a return to football.
