St Kilda's young forward Josh Battle will miss at least a fornight after scans revealed a fractured left eye socket on Monday.

Battle felt pain in his eye following Sunday's clash against the Demons and was sent for scans as a precaution.

Unfortunately, the scans revealed two small fractures that will keep the exciting forward out for 2-3 weeks.

General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean spoke on how Battle impressed so quickly after coming into the team and how he will be missed.

“Josh has made a significant impact after earning his opportunity against Sydney in Round 12,” Lethlean told saints.com.au.

“Not only has he been able to hit the scoreboard but has played with great physicality.

“Thankfully the injury doesn’t require surgery, but it will mean that he is sidelined for a short period.”

Battle has kicked six goals in three games this season, after only playing one game last year.
