Melbourne key forward Jesse Hogan has been officially ruled out of the Demons' trip to Adelaide after coming down with an illness.
Channel Nine sports journalist Tony Jones tweeted the news out on Friday afternoon, with Melbourne taking no chances with their young gun.

Sam Weideman has been brought in to the 22 to replace Hogan, with James Harmes now an emergency for the Demons.
The withdrawal means Hogan will miss his fourth game of the season already, after serving a two-match ban in rounds three and four before missing round six heading to Adelaide to spend time with his family following his father's passing.
