White-hot Magpie Jordan De Goey appears set to allay fears that he would depart the AIA Centre, with the 26-year-old closing in on inking a multi-year deal to remain in black and white.

Following the hybrid threat's scintillating start to September during Collingwood's narrow qualifying loss to Geelong, powerbrokers within the club's four walls opted to ramp up their retention plans for De Goey.

Despite pulling a deal for the former top-10 pick following his infamous trip to Bali during the bye week earlier this year, De Goey has been tabled the same contract earlier this week.

And according to Jon Ralph ofย The Herald Sun,ย it is a deal that De Goey and his contemporary form of management are set to agree upon.

โ€œFor Collingwood, Jordan De Goey is likely to sign a four-year deal,โ€ Ralph said onย Fox Footyย on Saturday night.

โ€œThatโ€™s with a two-year performance-based trigger.โ€

Said deal is said to net De Goey within the vicinity of $3.2 million, at around $800,000 per season.

Given De Goey's impending restricted free agent status, the Oakleigh Chargers product has been heavily pursued by St Kilda, with previous reports suggesting the Linton Street side had made offers of $1 million a year to lure the gamechanger.

With 24 disposals, 12 score involvements, a pair of assists and a major of his own, De Goey was at his damaging best in Collingwood's semi-final victory over Fremantle on Saturday night.

De Goey and the remainder of the Magpies' momentum makers will now turn their sites to the Harbour City and their preliminary final date against the Swans on Saturday evening.
