Brisbane forward Joe Daniher has been removed from Chris Fagan's line-up for Friday night's semi-final against Melbourne, with the 28-year-old ruling himself out due to personal reasons.

The moustachioed target proved to be the match-winner in the Lions' last-minute victory over Richmond during last Thursday's elimination final at the Gabba.

However, just over a week later, the former Bomber will be replaced on the teamsheet by young forward Tom Fullarton.

Within a statement released on Friday morning, Brisbane contended that "the club supports Joe’s decision to be with his family at this time and respects their privacy."

Reports from SEN's Sam Edmund claim that Daniher has opted to miss the finals clash against Melbourne as his partner is set to give birth.

Kai Lohmann will replace Fullarton as the fourth emergency, joining Ryan Lester, Rhys Mathieson and Jaxon Prior in the supporting cast.
