Several Collingwood stars are under injury clouds in the fallout from last night's disappointing loss to GWS at the MCG.

Vice-captain Taylor Adams is set for a stint on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury, coming off the ground late in the third quarter with what the club described as a ligament knee injury.

He joined fellow midfielder Brayden Sier on the sidelines, who was subbed out of the game earlier with gastro.

And now, AFL journalist Tom Browne reports that Jordan De Goey and Steele Sidebottom have also been sent for scans this morning.

De Goey has a potential finger issue, while Sidebottom's possible injury is unknown.

"The Pies new injuries are a massive issue too. Potentially worse than first thought. Adams, Sidebottom and De Goey all had scans this morning. De Goey has a potential finger issue. Latest @7NewsMelbourne," Browne tweeted on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to reporters post-match, a dejected Nathan Buckley could not confirm the full extent of Adams' injury.

"The doc said it was significant enough to obviously not go back out. So we'll see how that settles over the next day or two," the Magpies coach said.

"Brayden Sier had gastro and was deemed by the docs to not continue. He was crook for most of the game but couldn't go any further.

"They would have been handy to have there, and Tay in particular, is a leader that we need to have out there when the whips are cracking. We'll need to find a replacement there."

The Magpies went down to the injury-savaged Giants by 30 points, who were playing without the likes of Stephen Coniglio, Phil Davis, Matt De Boer, Harry Perryman and Lachie Whitfield.

The selection axe now looms for Nathan Buckley's team after the disappointing result with essentially a full-strength team, slumping to 1-3 ahead of a trip to Perth to play West Coast next weekend.

Buckley called for change in some form - either through game style, selection or preparation.

“You can’t go 1-3 and sit on your hands,” Buckley told reporters.

“We think we’ve picked the best sides to get results and we haven’t (got results).

“So we’ve got to look at changes. Whether that’s the way we play, whether we strip things back, the way we prepare or personnel, there’s plenty of things that will be assessed in that regard.

“But we’ve got six days to turn around and get over to Perth (to play West Coast).

“There’s still some things that we’re doing okay - but not enough, clearly.”

The club could call on some youth at the selection table, with Buckley highlighting the form of Finlay Macrae, Reef McInnes, Ollie Henry and Caleb Poulter.

Beau McCreery looked good in his first official AFL game, laying eight tackles and booting a goal.

“There’s opportunity with us - we’re not locked away,” Buckley said.

“We have got a list to choose from. We’re actually quite fit, we’ve lost a couple tonight potentially but we only had three players unavailable so, touch wood, we’re actually in good shape with that.

“So we will go to players that we think are gonna make us better and give us the best chance to win - now and in the future.”
