A dangerous tackle paid against West Coast's Elliot Yeo could sour the midfielder's starring return to form, with the Eagles veteran set to nervously await the Match Review Officer's findings from Sunday's win over Richmond.

Yeo was among his side's best performers in their first win of the year, playing a leading role in midfield as the Eagles recorded a 39-point win over the Tigers.

The 30-year-old collected 27 disposals, 15 clearances, 19 possessions and two goals in the victory, adding to a stellar first month of the season that has seen the damaging midfielder averaging career-best figures.

With Yeo looming as a key piece in the Eagles' clash against rivals Fremantle this week, both he and West Coast will be hoping his tackle on Vlaustin in the fourth quarter of the Round 5 win doesn't end with a suspension.

Given the force with which Yeo drove Vlaustin into the ground, a potential charge of rough conduct (dangerous tackle) could be handed down.

Yeo will benefit from the tackle being one motion, however with both of Vlaustin's arms pinned and his head seemingly making contact with the ground, Yeo's tackle could be deemed to have placed his opponent in a vulnerable position where there was little option to protect himself.

The MRO may also deem Vlaustin was driven into the ground with excessive force, while the tackle mightn't be seen as 'inherently dangerous' in the eyes of the MRO as Yeo did not lift Vlaustin off the ground.

While Vlaustin was able to immediately return to play, any reportable offence will likely centre around impact as to what penalty Yeo may face.

A grading of careless conduct, high contact and low impact would mean Yeo is free to play in this weekend's Western Derby. Should the level of impact be viewed as 'medium', then Yeo would be handed a one-game suspension.

Two incidents earlier in the round garnered dangerous tackle charges by the MRO, with Brisbane's Charlie Cameron handed a one-game ban for his tackle on Melbourne's Jake Lever on Thursday.

Adelaide captain Jordan Dawson avoided a suspension after his tackle on Carlton's Ollie Hollands was graded as careless conduct, low impact and high contact.

The MRO will release their findings from Sunday's matches on Monday evening.
