North Melbourne midfield bull Jason Horne-Francis is remaining tight-lipped about his future at Arden Street.

The number one pick from last year's draft endured a difficult debut season despite playing 17 out of the 22 games, whereas others from his draft class in Nick Daicos, Josh Rachele, Josh Gibcus, Jase Burgoyne, Marcus Windhager, and Sam Darcy have also shown their football talent.

In May it was revealed the teenager and the Roos couldn't agree to a long-term contract extension. The report led to former North Melbourne football boss Brady Rawlings to hit back at suggestions around Horne-Francis' future, while stating that the club had never cautioned him about going home to see family in Adelaide in another off-field distraction.

In a June smashing at the hands of the Giants, Horne-Francis was given a two-match suspension for a hit on GWS star midfielder Josh Kelly.

Last month, the 19-year-old was dropped for the side's clash against Adelaide for reportedly failing to complete "proper ice baths and recovery" and follow club standards.

The ongoing spotlight shining on Horne-Francis has only continued to raise conjecture over his future at Arden Street beyond the opening year of his two-year contract.

When asked on Wednesday about his future with the Shinboners, the reserved Horne-Francis didn't give away too many hints.

"Like I said I'm contracted for the end of next year, so I'm happy at the moment and I'll see how things go," he told 9 News.

"I can't really speak on that. I'm a big family person, I love my family, but I also love where I'm at with North at the moment."

Horne Francis averaged 16.63 disposals, 3.47 clearances and 8.24 contested possesions per game this season.
