Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge is remaining non-committal on the future of club legend Tom Liberatore.
Liberatore has indicated he is keen to play on next year, and make that his farewell, but Beveridge has declared "Libba" is being treated no differently to any other player still out of contract coming towards the end of the season.
"Any contractual discussions, it's not just me who is involved ... I think I'll just leave that one," Beveridge said.
"We will weigh up the pros and cons with Tom."
Given his standing at Whitten Oval, Liberatore is still expected to be given the opportunity to play next year - if he can avoid injuries and concussions in the final months of the season.
Liberatore missed last Sunday's win against Gold Coast with "general soreness'', but will return against Richmond at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.
Beveridge said Liberatore would be used mostly in the midfield against the Tigers, with sprinklings of forward work.
That other late withdrawal against the Suns, Riley Garcia, is done for the season due to ongoing hamstring issues.
"His season's finished so he's really down in the dumps," Beveridge said.
Garcia has been given a fortnight off, and on his return the club will work through a plan to return to action next season. He managed only one VFL outing before again breaking down.
Veteran Adam Treloar, also hobbled by soft-tissue injuries in the past two seasons, is on the sidelines with another calf complaint.
It looks like a monumental task for Treloar to return to the AFL team, but he hasn't given up on playing at some level this year - even if it is in the VFL.
"Adam's determined to see if he can get back for a finals series.
"It doesn't matter what level it is. Both levels are pushing to make a finals series," Beveridge said.
Treloar is almost certainly in his final season, so the stakes are high.
