Saints great Danny Frawley has ruled the Bulldogs out of finals contention this season, following their 35-point loss to Collingwood on Friday night.

After winning the premiership in 2016, the Dogs failed to reach the finals the following season, and look likely to miss again with a 4-6 record after 10 rounds.

“I don’t think there’s been a bigger fall from grace than the Bulldogs,” he told the AFL Nation pre-game show.

“I think we all expected them to bounce back after last year like Hawthorn did after 2009.

“They’re actually going down so I think we’ll look back on this year and say what happened?”

The Dogs were held goalless by the Pies in the second half of their clash at Etihad Stadium and look a shadow of their 2016 self.
