during the 2016 AFL NAB Challenge match between the Richmond Tigers and the Port Adelaide Power at Etihad Stadium on March 10, 2016 in Melbourne, Australia.

Richmond star Brett Deledio is unlikely to play in round one due to a quad injury.

Deledio was restricted to running laps at training on Sunday away from the main group after experiencing tightness in his quadriceps.

He has battled achilles and calf problems during the pre-season, managing just one half of football during the NAB Challenge.

The club said there is no major damage, but will not be risked in this week's season opener against Carlton at the MCG.

“Brett has experienced some tightness in his quadriceps and was restricted to running laps yesterday,” Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson said.

“He is unlikely to train for the full session tomorrow, meaning he will not be risked on Thursday night.”
