A four-club deal involving Adelaide, Melbourne, North Melbourne and Gold Coast  been finalised, with eight draft selections and Suns forward Chris Burgess involved in the trade.

According to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey, Burgess will depart Queensland in favour of a move back to South Australia as he joins the Crows, who have parted with Picks 23 and 26.

The 27-year-old has been starved of opportunities over the past two years, playing just three matches at AFL level. The consistent run in the VFL has seen the sharpshooting Sun claim the Jim 'Frosty' Miller Medal as the competition's leading goalkicker both this year and in 2022.

He will now join Adelaide as a supporting tall forward for Matthew Nicks to consider, with Burgess involved in a trade that has also pleased three other clubs.

Melbourne have added Pick 11 to their draft hand via the move, having given up Picks 14, 27 and 35.

As well as trading on Burgess, the Suns have parted with Picks 11 and 18 for a return of Picks 23, 26, 27, 35 and a future end-of-first-round pick via the Kangaroos' AFL assistance package.

The suite of later selections for this year's draft will significantly help the Suns secure several highly-rated Academy players, whom they will have priority access to at the National Draft.

North Melbourne have picked up Pick 18 in in the deal for the 2024 late first-round selection.

The Crows have also come away with Pick 14 as well as Burgess, having traded Picks 23 and 26.

The deal is yet to be confirmed by the AFL.
