The halfway mark of the 2018 AFL season is just weeks away and each teams' storylines have begun to form, whether it be unexpected success like West Coast or unexpected poor performance like Essendon is experiencing.

Injuries are a part of the game and it contributes to a teams performance in the worst way, with Carlton being hit with the injury blow the hardest in the early part of the season and subsequently using the second most players in their senior team this year.

Joining them at the top of the list is Essendon, St Kilda and the Gold Coast Suns, who haven't at all found list consistency yet.

Top of the table leaders West Coast and Richmond are in the bottom half of the list, enjoying a fairly consistent playing list, having used just 30 and 27 players this year, respectively.
