Rumours are circling today that Hawthorn Premiership player Brian Lake and Collingwood AFLW marquee player Mo Hope are featuring in the next season of Channel 10’s Australian Survivor.

Former Brisbane Lions player Jonathon Brown revealed on NOVA this morning that he knocked back an offer to be on the reality program but then confirmed Lake would be appearing.

This year’s season of Australian Survivor is themed as “Champion vs Contenders” and Lake and Hope are believed to be featuring as “champions of public life.”

Speculation that Hope is in the Fijian jungle has been fuelled by her recent absence from social media.

Her recent posts on Instagram look to be old ones and her face is not shown in a video of her working at a computer.

The Collingwood marquee player is said to be switching clubs for next year’s AFLW season in favour of the new North Melbourne team joining the competition in 2020 but she is yet to sign a contract.

Since retiring from football in 2015, Lake has been pursuing a media career as a boundary rider for Fox Footy and appearing on Fox Footy shows ‘The Beep Test’ and ‘The Bounce.’

Channel 10 released a statement to the Herald Sun on contestant speculations.

“TEN will neither confirm nor deny speculation about the identity of Australian Survivor Champions v Contenders contestants and we look forward to revealing our extraordinary cast in the coming months,” a spokesman said.
