Hawthorn star Dylan Moore has had the charge against him for trespassing in Scottsdale, Arizona, dropped.

During the off-season, police arrested Moore and teammate Connor MacDonald in the United States for allegedly trespassing after they were caught using a cherry picker late at night on November 8.

Both Hawks were charged with third-degree criminal trespass, while Moore was also accused of possessing drug paraphernalia, but that charge was let go early in proceedings.

On Thursday, the trespassing charge was officially dropped, with Moore being required to pay a $300 diversion fee, complete an alcohol screening and take 16 hours of alcohol education.

Both Moore and MacDonald spent the night in jail after their arrest late last year, with the former losing his vice-captaincy role after the incident.

MacDonald is set for sentencing next month.

When news of the incident broke in March, Moore explained what went wrong during the post-season trip.

"I was in the US, I was out having a few drinks, and made a foolish mistake, decided to get on a scissor lift and next thing I know the cops are there telling me to get off, and I got off, and next thing I know, I'm in police custody," Moore told Seven News.

"It's something that I'll always regret. A foolish mistake has led to a night in a jail cell and many regrets.

"I felt a bit of disappointment, regret, stress, anxiety.

"I was in a cell overnight not knowing if my friends and family knew in Australia.

"It was all just disappointment and fear of what they're going to think."
