Jarrod Berry's rotten luck with injury has continued, with the veteran suffering a left calf injury in the second term of the Lions' clash with the Demons on Sunday afternoon.

It comes after Berry notably missed the Lions 2025 premiership triumph, after requiring a shoulder reconstruction, with this latest setback an unfortunate one for the 28-year-old Victorian.

Berry is one of coach Chris Fagan's favourite magnets for his team-first attitude, dedication to task and uncompromising attack on the football and the man.

A return to play is expected to communicated after the requisite scans are undertaken, with said scans likely to occur upon the Lions' return to the River City.

The Lions can ill afford many more injuries, with the likes of fan favourites Darcy Gardiner and Dayne Zorko already nursing ailments, while Dan Annable, Jack Payne and Eric Hipwood appear more long term prospects.

The Lions went into halftime with a considerable lead, despite Berry's withdrawal, after a seesawing start to their encounter with the upstart Demons.
