GWS star Toby Greene is set to miss the Giants' crucial away clash with the Brisbane Lions after failing to overcome the glute and back injury he sustained against Port Adelaide in Round 13.
Greene suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Power clash but was later subbed out of the contest, and although he was initially named to travel to the Gabba, Greene remained in serious doubt to play.
Coach Adam Kingsley said on Thursday that Greene remained a chance but the corked glute was impacting his mobility.
"It's just a knock. It was a good knee to his buttocks. It's a deep cork and it's just hindering his ability to run and move. That's why we subbed him and it just hasn't recovered," Kingsley said.
However, on Friday the captain of the expansion club was pulled from the squad, with two-gamer Josaia Delana named to play in his place.
Delana debuted against the Swans in Round 8 and was the starting substitute against the Cats in Round 9, before being omitted to the VFL side again this season.
A Category B rookie taken in last year's draft, the Fijian forward has hit his straps in the state league as of late, hitting the scoreboard in every contest this season, including a two-goal, 16-disposal display against the Northern Bullants last week.

The Giants will be hoping for an emotionally charged revenge match against the Lions after bottling a 44-point lead in last year's semi-final, which ultimately paved the way for a 21-year drought-breaking Brisbane premiership.
The final 23 and substitute will be named an hour before play gets underway on Saturday afternoon.
