The first bombshell of the silly season has arrived, with Greater Western Sydney veteran Heath Shaw reportedly told to consider his playing future in the coming days.
Following the Giants' second preliminary final loss in as many years, CrocMedia's Mitch Cleary reports the former Collingwood star's career at GWS could come to an end this off-season as the club looks to tweak its list to go at least one better in 2018.

Shaw is currently 31, but will be 32 by the time next season begins. He played every game for the Giants this season, averaging 20.6 disposals and he was named in the All-Australian team in 2016.
The defender has played a total of 88 games with the Giants since joining the club in 2014 after 173 matches in 10 seasons with Collingwood.
He won the club's best and fairest in 2015 and has twice won All-Australian selection during his time at the Giants.
Shaw is contracted for next year, after joining the club on a lucrative five-year deal at the end of 2013.
