Geelong youngster Charlie Constable is likely to seek a trade request at season's end, according to SEN's Sam Edmund.

Constable has been called in from the cold for tonight's match against Fremantle in what will be the 21-year-old's first AFL game since Round 9 last year.

Since he lost his place in the Cats side last season, he has reportedly been courted by a number of rival clubs.

According to Edmund, Constable has been told he can no longer play in the same midfield as Cats stars Joel Selwood and Patrick Dangerfield and has grown tired of being overlooked.

The 191cm midfielder is recalled to a side missing the likes of Selwood, Gary Ablett and Luke Dahlhaus, among several others.

Constable, the No.36 pick in the 2017 national draft, broke into the side in 2019 after a year in the VFL.

He impressed in just second game at AFL level, amassing 31 disposals and a goal to earn a Rising Star nomination.

The Cats and Dockers face off at Optus Stadium tonight at 8.10pm AEST.
