Geelong has signed veteran ruckman Rhys Stanley and young midfielder Mitch Knevitt to one-year extensions, locking the duo away for 2026.

Stanley will add a 12th season at the Cats after crossing from St Kilda ahead of the 2015 season.

He has played 229 AFL games, including the 2022 premiership, but was unable to replicate the same outcome this season.

As for Knevitt, he is slowly but surely making his way into the senior team after biding his time in the VFL behind the likes of Max Holmes, Patrick Dangerfield and Tom Atkins.

The 22-year-old has played 21 games in four seasons, but looked most likely in 2025 during his seven outings under Chris Scott.

"Rhys has been a highly valued member of our football program for a decade now and, heading into 2026, will continue to be a great teammate and important member of our squad," Geelong EGM of Football Andrew Mackie said.

"Mitch is an exciting young player who showed this year what he can produce when given the opportunity, and we are keen to see him continue to learn and develop in our program."

Geelong are yet to make calls on Jed Bews, Cam Guthrie, George StevensJoe PikeOliver Wiltshire and Ted Clohesy.

Mitch Duncan (retired) and untried pair Patrick Retschko (delisted), Xavier Ivisic (delisted) have departed the club.
