Geelong assistant coach Nathan Buckley has jumped to the defence of struggling forward Jeremy Cameron.
Cameron has not kicked a goal in his last four games as he continues to struggle with an arm injury he sustained in last year's grand final while a collarbone injury has also punctuated him late in the year.
"I think any coach that didn't want to select Jeremy or any coach who wanted Jeremy on the field has got rocks in their head," Nathan Buckley said on SEN ahead of Geelong's semi final at Optus Stadium against Fremantle.
"A couple of games back from his collarbone injury, he's been building his match fitness. Anyone who sleeps on him is going to be wounded at some point because he's a quality player who generally has a way of impacting no matter the circumstances."
Chris Scott also addressed his star forward's form on Channel 7 ahead of the match.
"I work in partnership with our guns especially, they might even have the upper hands in those conversations," Scott said.
Earlier in the season there were questions about him and he came out against the Western Bulldogs (and kicked 10 goals).
He's getting pretty close to full fitness and his maximum capacity...I expect him to play pretty well."
Buckley also offered an insight into star midfielder Bailey Smith ahead of game 150.
"He's underrated for his contested ball work and his pressure inside so there are some attributes to his game that don't have a light shone on them as much," Buckley said.
