Greater Western Sydney's Daniel Lloyd has been subbed out of his side's clash with Richmond after being on the end of some friendly fire.
A crunching collision between Lloyd and Giants tall Jake Riccardi left the former requiring medical attention on the MCG turf within the dying moments of the opening quarter.
During the first break of the match, the Giants opted to use their medical substitution, with Lloyd being replaced by veteran midfielder Matt De Boer in the match.

Giants defender Phil Davis was also in the hands of the club's medical staff after suffering a hamstring injury late into the second quarter.
In an attempted tackle on Tiger Noah Balta, an outstretched Davis was clutching at his thigh after falling to the ground.
Davis left the field following the incident and has been put on ice for the second half.
