Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir says Murphy Reid is unlikely to return from injury on Saturday to face Carlton at Marvel Stadium.
Reid's incredible consecutive-game streak from when he debuted in Round 1 last year came to an end last week with a groin injury he sustained in the loss to Melbourne.
"Getting there," Longmuir said.
"He'll train fully today. We'll see how he goes. He's still unlikely for this week, but we'll give him an opportunity."
There is rare positive news for injury-prone ruckman Sean Darcy coming from the most recent scans on his calf.

Darcy has often been stuck behind off-season recruit Mason Cox for the second ruck position, and has battled with injury throughout the last few years.
"He had a scan, and it came back really positive," Longmuir said.
"So, we'll see how much he gets through today. It couldn't have been a much better scan.
"He's pretty frustrated, but he's a lot happier now that he's got a positive scan. I think it was his first positive scan, so it's a good sign. Hopefully he can pick it up today, train Thursday and put his hand up for selection."
Captain Alex Pearce is also progressing well from a corky he received in the win over Adelaide.
All three were training with the main group.
Fremantle has locked up the minor premiership, but will take Saturday's clash with Carlton as a precursor to the finals.
The Dockers have produced their best season in history, claiming at least 19 wins throughout a home-and-away campaign. The previous record was 17 in 2015.
