New faces: Fremantle had a busy off-season, signing gun GWS half-back Nathan Wilson, who will slot straight into their best 22, and Gold Coast half-forward Brandon Matera, who will fancy his chances of being there come Round 1.

Top five picks Andrew Brayshaw and Adam Cerra are regarded as ready-made prospects, boosting a strong midfield group led by skipper Nat Fyfe.

On the fringe: Matt Taberner and Brennan Cox are two key-position players who could break into the best 22, Cox being a youngster who the Dockers will be eager to develop into a pillar of the side. Sean Darcy, Danyle Pearce, Alex Pearce, Cameron Sutcliffe, Tom Sheridan, Ed Langdon and Darcy Tucker should all feature in 2018.
