Former AFL ruckman Braydon Preuss has signed with VFL club Williamstown Seagulls for 2026.
Preuss was originally drafted as a rookie by North Melbourne ahead of the 2015 season, and played eight games in four years.
A shift to Melbourne for a pair of campaigns saw the Surfers Paradise product add another 10 matches to his tally before a move to GWS loomed.
Preuss spent four years with the Giants, adding a further 10 games to his AFL career, totalling 28 over 10 years.
Injuries and opportunities had prevented the 30-year-old from consistent top-flight football, but after spending 2025 with Yarragon Panthers in the Ellinbank & District Football League, he is ready to make his return towards a higher level.
"We've seen through his AFL experience that Braydon is a very capable ruckman and we're delighted to have him join us," Williamstown GM of Football Operations, Ash Collins, said.
"He has a hunger to return to high-level football, and we believe Williamstown offers the ideal environment to relaunch his career.
"Braydon will step into the role vacated by retiring ruckman Tom Downie and become a player our younger group can look up to. We can't wait to see him get to work in the blue and gold."
The Seagulls finished inside the top 10 of the 2025 VFL ladder and bypassed Collingwood in the Wildcard Round before bowing out to the Casey Demons.
