Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield is pushing to bring former teammate Brad Crouch to the Cats, per SEN's Sam Edmund.

The Crows star is a restricted free agent at the end of the season and has drawn interest from a number of rival clubs, including the Gold Coast Suns and Richmond.

He recently admitted it could be in both parties' interests for him to leave West Lakes.

It comes a year after Dangerfield convinced Geelong to recruit then out-of-favour Crow Josh Jenkins.

The Brownlow medallist remains good friends with Crouch and has reportedly "gone in to bat" for the midfielder.

Edmund reports that Richmond also remain keen on Crouch, but not to the level of the Cats.

Crouch is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, having missed the last three games.

He is averaging 20.2 disposals and 4.6 clearances from eight games this season.
