John Longmire revealed that the five suspended Sydney players all got up and spoke in front of the group as they returned to the club for the first time since the Pullman Hotel incident.
Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, Riley Bice and James Jordon all walked through Swans headquarters on Wednesday and addressed the wider playing group, as well as staff members.
Longmire, speaking on AFL 360, provided insight into the meeting.
"Yes, I was (in the meeting with all staff and the suspended five Swans)," he said.
"Players came in today. There were members of our men's team. Our W team. Staff involved as well.
"They came in and apologised to everyone. And so it was a tough chat as you could imagine.
"I can't get into all the detail of it, but yes, they did (all got up individually and apologised). Each of them spoke to the group. They had a chat, as you can imagine; tough for them, tough for the people that were hearing it, tough for a lot of people today.
"I think at some stage, people will say, ' When is the right time? When is the wrong time? Everyone will have different views on it. But at some point, it needed to happen, and it happened today.
"We will see what happens from here. See what goes and how we move forward from here on in."
The quintet headed into the Sydney headquarters ahead of the 2026 exit meetings, with their future speculated.
Heeney spoke on behalf of the five players following the meeting.
“It was really nice to address the whole club, thankful they could give us their time and understanding,” he said.
The players who stood down from Round 23 onwards, and missed the club's stoic run to the preliminary final against Fremantle.
They are still being investigated, which is set to run beyond the trade and free agency period.
It is understood Bice is no longer a person of interest, and is being treated as a witness in the case.
