Former Sun Campbell Brown says Collingwood and Richmond are the two frontrunners to sign out-of-contract Gold Coast skipper Tom Lynch.

The Hawthorn premiership player predicts the Hawks have fallen behind the other two Victorian powerhouses to lure Lynch back to Melbourne.

โ€œYou canโ€™t be enjoying your footy - theyโ€™ve kicked four goals in each of the last two weeks and theyโ€™re the first club in AFL history I believe to have not recorded a mark inside 50 on the weekend, Brown toldย SEN Breakfast.

โ€œHeโ€™s one of the most competitive blokes you will ever meet. Heโ€™s now played AFL footy for eight years and he would be desperate for some success.

โ€œI always laugh when people are asked where is he (Tom Lynch) going to go, whatโ€™s Tom Lynch going to do?

โ€œWeโ€™re only guessing, but my gut feel is that thereโ€™s two clubs in the race - I think Hawthorn will be ruled out.

โ€œIโ€™m thinking Collingwood or Richmond are the two clubs that Tom Lynch will probably end up at next year.โ€
