Adelaide's Chayce Jones has accepted a one-match suspension for umpire abuse in a SANFL game last weekend.
Jones was sanctioned for using abusive, insulting or obscene language towards an umpire for the Crows reserves side at Thomas Farms Oval on Saturday.
Following a free kick against an Adelaide player, with the umpire awarding Sturt, vision indicated Jones making comments towards the officiator, who penalised him 50 metres, resulting in a certain goal.
The Crows' loss to the Blues eliminated their chance to play in the 2026 finals series after finishing seventh with seven wins.
Adelaide has been granted an extension to gain clarity from the AFL regarding the impact of Jones' suspension on the AFL Finals and 2027 season.
The Crows' AFL side is set to embark on September footy for the second year in a row, and will host an elimination final after this weekend's Wildcard Round.
Jones is out of contract and has played eight games in the past two seasons. He played his 100th AFL match in Round 4 against Fremantle, but hasn't been sighted in the senior side since.
