Delisted Melbourne midfielder Osak Baker is reportedly in line to join the Western Bulldogs ahead of the 2023 season.

Baker, who was cut by the Demons at the end of this year after 15 games in five seasons, has been linked with the Whitten Oval club in recent weeks following his exit from the AFL.

The Bulldogs' rumoured interest in Baker comes after the club traded veteran wingman Lachie Hunter to the Demons last month, while midfielder Josh Dunkley also departed this off-season in a switch to Brisbane.

With Baker opting not to nominate for the National Draft, he is now expected to be a strong chance to join the Bulldogs as a Supplemental Selection Period signing, according to AFL Media.

Former Hawk Liam Shiels has followed the same route in not being among the near 900 nominations for the draft, while ex-Bomber Conor McKenna is also set to join Brisbane as an SSP signing.

Should Baker land a move to the Dogs, he'll be able to begin pre-season training at the Kennel before the new year.

Baker played 20 games this year for Melbourne's VFL affiliate Casey, where he was a member of the club's premiership side this year.

The SSP signing window is set to open next year as clubs work through the final months of their pre-season schedules.
