Former Hawthorn player Sam Grimley could be the latest player to sign on as a top-up player for the Bombers in 2016.

Grimley has been training with Essendon as the club looks to fill the final three spots on its top-up list.

The 25-year-old, who played three games with Hawthorn before being delisted at the end of last season, had signed a contract with WAFL club Subiaco, but has flown to Victoria to train with the Bombers and try to win a place on their list in 2016.

Grimley has kicked 91 goals over the past two seasons in the VFL.

Essendon have already signed Ryan Crowley, James Kelly, Mathew Stokes, Mark Jamar, Matt Dea, James Polkinghorne, and Jonathan Simpkin.

  1. A good VFL player, who kicks goals, gets lost in traffic a bit and with a run of games and experience might be a capable league footballer… Was a project player who had to much talent in front of him at hawthorn… Worth a punt !!
