Lin Jong has joined Mulgrave for the 2023 season, following his 2021 retirement from the AFL.
Jong played 65 games for the Western Bulldogs across his time with the club after his debut in Round 10, 2012, while also featuring in two VFL premierships with Footscray.
The 29-year-old retired in 2021 after suffering a serious hamstring injury early in the season after dealing with a series of injuries throughout his career.
Jong spent time with local club Montmorency in 2022, but said it was "exciting" to head back to Mulgrave, where he played football as a teenager.
“I was a Brentwood kid, I played my junior footy just over at the Rovers and then Under 19s here, so really I'm coming home and I get to play with some great mates,” Jong said.
“It feels like the right time… it's an exciting time for the club, things are happening, we finally get to settle back in to the new home after the club went through the whole building redevelopment plus the COVID period. So it's a great time to come back and get into it.
“It's an exciting playing list that's quite young… obviously I'm more experienced now so I'm keen to help the young boys out where I can.”
