Former Big Bash and Sheffield Shield cricketer Clint Hinchcliffe has signed with WAFL club Swan Districts for the 2026 season.
Hinchliffe, an AFL Draft prospect with Western Australia at the 2015 U18s National Championships, opted for cricket over football as a junior, going on to play for WA's state side and the Cricket Australia XI against England.
The 29-year-old was signed to the Perth Scorchers in the BBl ahead of the 2018/19 season, and would move to the Melbourne Stars a year later.
Hinchliffe has played a total of 27 BBL matches, his most recent coming in 2023, having best bowling figures of 3/19 and a high score of 25 with the bat.
The former West Perth Colts and Reserves player is returning to the WAFL, joining the Swans for next season.
Hinchcliffe more recently suited up for Ocean Ridge in the Perth Football League, earning a spot in the competition's representative side that defeated the VAFA's Big V team in July this year.
"From Big Bash to Black & White, Clint Hinchcliffe joins Swan Districts," a club post read.

"A mature-age recruit with a remarkable journey, Clint was a standout junior footballer with West Perth Colts & WA U18s before stepping away at 18 to pursue professional cricket. He went on to represent WA in first-class cricket and play BBL with the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars.
"Returning to football through the Perth Amateurs, Clint has dominated for Ocean Ridge over the past two seasons. He starred in WA's win over Victoria with 36 disposals and finished runner-up in the A-Grade Best & Fairest in 2025.
"Elite professionalism. Relentless work ethic. Team-first mindset. Clint's midfield presence will be a serious asset at Steel Blue Oval."
Hinchcliffe is the Swans' second signing of the off-season, having also acquired Williamstown and former Vic Metro forward Jovan Petric.
Swan Districts finished eighth in 2025, winning six of their 18 games during the home and away season.
Hinchliffe's switch from cricket to football comes after the successful moves of Wil Parker and James O'Donnell, who are listed with Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs since crossing from cricket.
