North Melbourne has suffered a blow, with tagger Ben Jacobs set to be sidelined for up to two months with a foot injury.

The club confirmed on Sunday evening that Jacobs re-fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot at training on Friday, which is the same injury he sustained last year that ended his season after round eight.

He will require surgery and will miss six to eight weeks.

It has been a bad 24 hours for the Roos, with promising young forward, Mason Wood, also likely to miss two months due to a hamstring injury.
