Former Carlton and Brisbane forward Brendon Fevola has apologised to his former coach at the Lions Michael Voss and the club for his actions in 2010 at Brisbane.

The full forward moved to the Lions at the end of the 2009 season after he was traded from Carlton, following his off-field behaviour at the Brownlow Medal ceremony that year.

Another string of behavioral issues saw Fevola ultimately sacked from the Lions after just one season, despite booting an impressive 48 goals from just 17 matches.

Seven years on from his one year at the Lions, Fevola apologised to the club and Voss on his Fox FM morning radio show on Friday, and said he was probably the reason he got Voss fired.

"This oneโ€™s for Michael Voss," Fevola said."He took a chance on me up in Brisbane and gave me a lifeline when the Blues said โ€œsee you laterโ€."He took me up there - and I didnโ€™t really go well up there.

"So I got the 'lemonade and sars' from Brisbane and then Vossy ended up getting sacked probably because he hired me.

"But heโ€™s going alright now - heโ€™s at Port Adelaide and heโ€™s a very good coach.

"I let him down. I let him and Brisbane down. So, Iโ€™m sorry."
