The Showdown between Port Adelaide and Adelaide this Saturday night is set to be the first AFL game to have fans in attendance this season, as first published by Fox Sports and later confirmed by Adelaide Crows.

The Crows confirmed on their club website that around 2000 fans have been given the green light to attend at Adelaide Oval with another 240 set to watch in private rooms at the ground. South Australian Police Commissioner Grant Stevens and Premier Steven Marshall expected to confirm the news Tuesday afternoon.

The finer details are still being discussed, such as how social distancing will be enforced and what the food and drink plan will be. There is expected to be a mixture of members and comporates in attendance.

This comes days after Commissioner Stephens allowed thousands to attend a Black Lives Matter protest and the crowds at Adelaide Oval have been voted in favor by the state's COVID-19 commission.

Meanwhile, Queensland has confirmed no fans will be in attendance at games in the state for Round 2 but has left the door open for crowds later in June.
