Port Adelaide have confirmed their coaching line up for season 2023, with three new appointments.

Collingwood premiership player Tyson Goldsack has earned the role of senior coach for the SANFL team, having previously served as a development coach and SANFL leadership player since joining at the end of 2019.

Goldsack will remain as the forward line development coach as he becomes the 41st person to coach the SANFL side.

Former Power vice-captain Hamish Hartlett will also take on a position at the club, accepting the role of defence development coach.

The 193-gamer returned to the club earlier this year as a part-time AFLW assistant coach.

Rounding out the structure, Josh Carr and Luke Kelly will take the engine room while Nathan Bassett and Chad Cornes will lead the defence and forward structures respectively, assisted by Hartlett and Goldsack.

"After reviewing the season, we committed to freshening up our coaching group with different roles for existing personnel and new voices in the line-up," said General Manager – Football, Chris Davies.

"We are looking forward to having Josh guiding our midfield group and seeing Hamish work with our young defenders.

"Hamish has had a very smooth transition into the coaching space with the club's women's program while maintaining his interest in developing young players through his work at West Adelaide.

"We are pleased with the balance within our coaching set-up and the support we will have around both our players and senior coach Ken Hinkley."

Port Adelaide enter 2023 after a disappointing season, finishing 11th after back-to-back preliminary finals appearances.

Hinkley remains contracted until the end of 2023.
