Former Dockers' forward Shane Yarran has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault at Fremantle Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.

Yarran, who played six games for the club after being recruited as a mature-age recruit last season, was charged with assaulting a family member in November last year.

The trial has been set for August.

The 27-year-old, who announced his retirement from AFL football in December, is also facing a separate charge of unlawful wounding.
