The 2018 AFL season is already flying, with Round 7 coming up this weekend we at Zero Hanger thought we'd put together a (very) early season All-Australian team, before we roll begin to roll it weekly.
Forwards
Nat Fyfe (FRE)
2018 averages: 30.7 disposals, 0.8 goals per game, 7.8 clearances, 16.8 contested possessions
Nat Fyfe looks back to his best this season, averaging 30.7 disposals (elite) and 0.8 goals (above average) a game. Fyfe this season is also ranking elite in total clearances (7.8 per game) as well as contested possessions (16.8 per game).
Lance Franklin (SYD)
2018 averages: 3.6 goals per game, 17 disposals per game, 8 marks, 6.4 shots at goal per game
Lance Franklin has showed no signs of slowing down this season, averaging 3.6 goals a game and 17 disposals. Although Buddy has been sidelined with a heel injury, Franklin already has 18 goals this season and would be aiming for another 60+ goal season.
Robbie Gray (PA)
2018 averages: 28.4 disposals per game, 6.6 clearances, 21.6 effective disposals, 1.12 marks in lead per game
After missing the first game with suspension, Robbie Gray has hit the ground running this season. Averaging 28.4 disposals a game (elite), Gray has been playing more minutes in the midfield this season, that has dramatically increased his output.
Steele Sidebottom (COLL)
2018 averages: 30.3 disposals per game, 1.2 goals per game, 73.6 disposal efficiency, 5.3 clearances
Sidebottom is once again having an outstanding year for the Pies in 2018. Averaging 30.3 disposals (elite) and 1.2 goals a game (elite), Sidebottom has been an in arguably career best form. What also stands out for Sidebottom is his efficiency of 73.6 percent (above average).
Ben Brown (NM)
2018 averages: 3.8 goals per game, 5 scoring shots per game, 76.7 goal accuracy, 44.4 hit out win percentage
Leading the Coleman Medal so far this year, Brown has already kicked 23 goals this season at an average of 3.8 goals a game. What also is impressive about Brown is that he's having five shot at goal per game (elite) and has a goal accuracy of 76.7 percent which is also rated as elite.
Luke Bruest (HAW)
2018 averages: 3.2 goals per game, 1.2 goal assists, 79.2 goal accuracy, 4.8 tackles
Luke Breust looks back to his best this season after an inconsistent 2017. Breust is averaging 3.2 goals a game (elite) and is currently second in the Coleman Medal race with 19 goals. Breust also averages 1.2 goal assists per game (above average) as well as a 79.2 goal accuracy rate (elite).
