Premiership Demon Ed Langdon has swung early at Round 21 rival Collingwood ahead of a highly-anticipated clash on Friday night, labelling the Magpies a "one-trick pony".
The two victorian clubs will go head-to-head at the MCG in a match that will shape the top four with just three rounds remaining in the home and away season.
The Magpies are pushing for their 11th straight victory in what has been an exciting run toward September, while the Demons are looking to steady the ship as they too remain in reaching distance of the minor premiership.
In their rise to premiership contention, Collingwood dismantled the Demons by 26 points in the Queen's Birthday clash, arguably their biggest scalp of the season.
But despite the loss and run of form, Langdon suggested Collingwood are "all duck and no dinner", with the Demons set to target the looming in weakness in Craig McRae's side.
"There's certainly a plan in place. You know, without giving away too much. it's not too dissimilar to what we did to Freo last week," Langdon told SEN.
"Our defence is definitely our biggest strength and to be honest we pride ourselves on making Friday night games pretty boring to watch for the spectators.
"They're sort of all duck and no dinner in a sense if they are playing fast footy on their terms they are hard to stop but they are a bit of a one-trick pony at times.
"Hopefully we can dampen the way they want to play, and on the back of that and sensibly play the way we want to play."
Despite the cheeky pre-game barb, Langdon expressed his excitement to face Collingwood in front of an antiquated packed MCG.
Expecting to line up against Magpies veteran Steele Sidebottom, the Demons winger said the team were as excited for a match as they have been for a while.
"We're incredibly excited, as excited as we've been for some time,"
"Personally, Friday night lights at the 'G against Collingwood... that's why you play footy, for these games."
The Demons and Magpies will clash at the MCG at 7:50pm (AEST) on Friday night.
