Melbourne are set to debut former VFL star Jay Lockhart just 15 days after joining the club, as reported by AFL Media.
It is understood that the 23-year old Tasmanian product will take the field when the Demons travel to Geelong to face the Cats on Saturday night.
Lockhart was rewarded with a spot on Melbourne's list on the final day of the pre-season supplemental selection period after impressing for the club's VFL affiliate Casey last year.
The mature-age defender has previously won two premierships for North Launceston in the Tasmanian State League.
Lockhart put his hand up for selection after a strong performance in last week's VFL practice match against Box Hill and was told that he would make his debut earlier this week.
