Melbourne AFLW superstar Daisy Pearce says Brisbane is the team that has impressed her the most so far this season.

The Lions currently sit second on the ladder, making a gradual trajectory over the last several weeks to cement themselves within the top four - and as a genuine premiership contender in 2019.

The two-time Melbourne best and fairest winner believes that there's every chance the young Brisbane side could win their first premiership since their coveted three-peat from 2001-2003.

โ€œItโ€™s probably Brisbane,โ€ Pearce told SEN Breakfast.

โ€œIf you look at it in terms of consistency across the year and the scalps that theyโ€™ve had.

โ€œSomeone might say: โ€˜What about Rounds 9-11?โ€™, and Iโ€™m happy to be proven wrong. But on gut feel โ€ฆ Brisbaneโ€™s the one that on consistency are it.

โ€œWe just keep wanting more to be convinced, but theyโ€™re the team I think, and they can absolutely win it.โ€

Brisbane are on track for their first finals appearance since 2009.

The Lions finished 15th in 2018, and have had a remarkable surge up the ladder this season.

They face Hawthorn at the University of Tasmania Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
